FAKTA – FAKTA BULAN (‘THE EARTH’S MOON FACTS’)

Bulan adalah satu – satunya satelit semula jadi Bumi. Ia juga berbentuk sfera.
(‘The Moon is our only natural satellite. It is also in the shape of a sphere.’)

(’The Earth's Moon is the fifth largest in the whole solar system.’)

(‘The moon size is smaller than the Earth. The Moon has approximately ¼ Earth's diameter, 1/50 Earth's volume, and 1/80 Earth's mass. The diameter of the Moon approximately is 3476 km and the diameter of the Earth is 12756 km.‘)

(‘A grain of sago and a marble can be used to represent the Moon and the Earth.’)

(‘The average distance between Earth and Moon is approximately 30 times Earth's diameter. The average distance from the Earth is 384 400 km, is equal to 250,000 miles.’)

(‘The average distance between the Sun and the Moon is approximately 150 million kilometres (93 million miles) depending on its revolution around the Earth and the Earth revolution around the Sun.’)

(‘The distance between the Moon and the Earth is far to near compared to the distance between the Moon and the Sun. This the reason why the Moon and the Sun appear to be the same size when viewed from Earth.’)

(‘The Sun happens to be 400 times the Moon's diameter, and 400 times as far away. That coincidence means the Sun and Moon appear to be the same size when viewed from Earth.’)

Permukaan Bulan (‘Surface of the Moon’)

(‘The Moon has no atmosphere and no water too. Therefore, no living things can be found on the Moon. Because there is no atmosphere on the Moon, the temperatures there are very hot during the day (100 ° C) and very cold at night (-173 ° C). It is also extremely quiet on the Moon, because no sound can travel through a vacuum (space without air).’)

(‘The surface of the moon has many things on it such as craters, lava plains, mountains, and valleys. Scientists believe the craters were formed around 3.5 to 4.5 billion years ago by meteors hitting the moon's surface.’)

(‘The interior of the Moon is made up of different layers of rock, some solid and some molten like lava.’)

Graviti (‘Gravity’)

(‘The Moon is smaller than the Earth, so objects weigh less on the Moon than they do here. The Moon's surface gravity is 1/6 of Earth's. That's why the astronauts could enjoy bouncing or floating around on the lunar surface.’)

Iaitu 10 kg.
(‘For example, if your weight on the Earth is 60 kg, so your weight on the Moon is the 1/6 only. It is equal to 10 kg.’)

(‘There is no wind or weather on the moon. The footprints left there by the Apollo astronauts will remain there for millions of years because of this.’)

(‘The Moon doesn't produce its own light or a light source, but looks bright because it reflects (bounces back) light from the Sun. Think of the Sun as a light bulb, and the Moon as a mirror, reflecting light from the light bulb.’)
