Terdapat dua jenis injap, injap atrium-ventrikel (AI) dan injap semilunar (SI). Injap atrium-ventrikel terletak di antara atrium dan ventrikel dan mengelak aliran semula darah dari ventrikel ke dalam atrium. Terdapat dua injap atrium-ventrikel, injap trikuspid yang terletak pada sebelah kanan jatung dan injap mitral terletak pada sebelah kiri jantung.

Atrioventricular valves are located between the atrium and the ventricle and prevent backflow of the blood from the ventricle into the atrium. There are two atrioventricular valves, tricuspid valve is located in the right side of the heart and mitral valve in the left side of the heart.’)
Injap semilunar terletak di lokasi di mana darah akan meninggalkan ventrikel, mengelak aliran semula darah ke dalam jantung. Injap di antara ventrikel dan arteri pulmonari pada sebelah kanan jantung dipanggil injap pulmonari dan injap di antara ventrikel dan aorta pada sebelah kiri jantung dipanggil injap aorta.
(‘Semilunar valves (SV) are located at the point where the blood leaves the ventricle, prevent backflow of the blood into the chamber. The valve between the ventricle and the pulmonary artery at the right side of the heart is called pulmonary valve and the valve between the ventricle and the aorta at the left side of the heart is called aortic valve.’)
